Snow in Madrid

It snowed last night around 1 a.m. It was the first thunder-snow-storm I've ever seen. It really came down for a bit. There was about 1/2 inch on the ground last night. (I have pics, but on my digi-camera not my phone). Not much stuck around til morning but there was enough left over to make it slick and covering the tops of cars and making the sidewalks a bit dangerous. Oh, it's also well below zero celcius out too... quite the difference from the 18 celcius weather we had 2 days ago. Chiiiiilllly. Reminds me of mornings back in New Hampshire walking to school (I walk to work now - living 3 blocks away from the office) my ears got really cold this morning and I got deja-vu.

This is the third winter I've seen it snow here in Madrid, but in the middle of the night. I used to make jokes to Ana that the first time I saw snow, we were packing up and moving to California the next day. That's when I thought it wouldn't snow here. I don't make jokes like that any more.

"Hello, United? Yes, I need tickets for two adults and a child from Madrid to San Francisco. Leaving tomorrow. Yes. Yes. No, no round trip needed."
