Happy Domingo

Domingo means Sunday in Spanish. AHhhhhuufh. I went to bed last night a bit too late again, but I wasn't being productive. I hate that. The thing about this blogging stuff is because so much info is coming in all the time you want to stop and read it all. So many different ideas, so many interesting thoughts and news.

The fact is that more information is produced each day than I will ever be able to learn in a lifetime.

I have to remember that, otherwise I start getting really antsy. I remember last year, I went quite a few months without keeping up with the latest technologies and trends. Then when I started getting back into it again, I was amazed at both how much stuff had changed, but really, how much had stayed the same. It doesn't take that long to catch up on what's going on... it's like looking at the big picture as opposed to trying to keep track of the details. Time is a great filter. The good information, ideas, etc. will stick around and the duds will fade away.

Speaking of duds, if there's anyone in the world who's reading this who knows what the HELL is up with my Dell Lattitude keyboard, please email me. My left control and shift key are starting to not work. I have to press harder and harder. The thing is that they were both almost non functional a month ago and so I did surgery on them replacing the metal under the plastic key with the metal from the right shift and control keys which I never use. They worked like new for a month, but now are starting not to function again. I mean, what's up with that?!? What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do to fix it? I've looked in Google without much hope... I feel like the only person in the world with this problem. Oh, the other thing is that this is my second Lattitude keyboard with this problem, so I'm SURE I'm not the only one (or maybe I've just had really really bad luck with keyboards... ;-) )

Okay, so I'm going to play with Velocity this morning, and also RegEx - I'm thinking the Simpleface Really Simple Markup Language (RSML or RussML :-D ) needs to go and be replaced by a simple HTML equivalent. This means a lot of HTML processing which is a pain, but we'll see what I come up with. I'd also like to play with Struts today and get some headway on the Journal, but I have to iron and clean the floors and Ana has a friend arriving at 7 p.m. so that might be pushing it for one day. But hey, I'm on VACATION so I don't have to work tomorrow and my family doesn't get here until Tuesday so I've got an extra day to work on stuff. COOL.

Okay, to work!

-Russ
