Watching Steve

God knows why my permalinks are broken again... while I'm figuring that out, I'm watching Steve in Paris.

I just found out the other day that iBooks don't have any PC Card slots! Since the networking and WiFi is built in, it's not that big a deal, but my importing my digital photos would be a real pain. I use an adapter for my digital camera's Flash memory card that just plugs into my computer and looks like another drive... copying all the photos off the takes 10 seconds. Over USB, it's like 10 minutes. Hmmm... I guess I'll have to hold out for a TiBook. ;-)

Maybe I'm behind the news, but Steve's talking about an iPod for Windows that they just launched... it comes with MusicMatch as the software ("it's not iTunes... but it's the best on the Windows side" heh-heh). Interesting.

A little later... I forgot to mention that I'm watching this via Quicktime 6 and MPEG-4... really, really nice. The sound is perfect and the image is fine. Much nicer than Real. I'm also uploading and downloading text files from my server in El Paso as well and posting this. I can barely get email when Real is downloading NPR so obviously Quicktime is managing bandwidth really well. This is pretty cool.
