The Lemmings Have Left
You have no idea how quiet Madrid is right now. Easter Vacation started officially yesterday and the roads were packed (with a 15km backup leaving the city for the beach). I am amazed at how this city gets during vacations. This is just a preview to the Month of August when the city evacuates.
It's such a part of the culture here to leave for vacation that my wife is getting grief from her family, constantly. "You're not going ANYWHERE? Oh, you poor thing." That annoys me (since, of course, it's my fault that we're not doing anything special).
How this society of followers produced Picasso and Dali, I have NO idea.
